X Raduno 6C2500

Dear Alfa Friends,
Last year the Registro members present at our annual meeting  “Via Nicola Romeo'” expressed their wish for a meeting in Belgium.
With some hesitation I have accepted to organise a Raduno.
Hesitation, since many of you will have to travel quite a distance  to come to Belgium. That means that the programm offered should be  a compensation for this effort! I think that we have managed to build up a weekend that will please everybody.

On Friday june 1 we will start in the afternoon with arriving individually on the “Groote Markt” ,the central market place in front of the Town Hall (Municipality) and park our cars. The cars will be guarded by professional people There will be a shuttle service to the hotel, which is actually not far from the market place.
The hotel is a good 4 star hotel, also in the centre of Antwerp and easy to be reached.
At 18:00 h. we are expected in the Cathedral of Antwerp for a short guided tour and then for a concert.
During our visit the Cathedral is not open for the public.
I am not so good in organ music, but I do understand that the organ in the Cathedral is one of the biggest and important of Europe. After this concert,we will have our -informal- dinner in the City Hall.
The City Hall  is as well a very impressive and beautiful building, reflecting the rich history of the city of Antwerp.
After this,we will drive with our cars to the hotel and park underneath it.

On Saturday morning we will start with a drive to the north of Belgium.
We will stop at a certain place and meet members of the Dutch Alfa club who will join us for the rest of the day. Together we will continue to Holland and go to the Louwman collection.
This is the biggest European collection of classic and vintage cars and related items.
There will be an interesting and special exhibition of  some very remarkable Alfa Romeo ‘s. We will have lunch there and will continue back to Antwerp in the afternoon.
Our dutch friends will then go their own way.
Saturday evening,we wil have the Gala dinner, but this will not be too formal,do not worry! We will all get a price for being present and will have much fun together.
The restaurant is called Granduca and is of a high quality, Italian orientated. It has an outside terrace.

Sunday morning we will start with maybe a visit to a diamond factory annex museum.
We are organising this at this moment.
Then we take our cars and will go for a ride.
First,we thought to organise a trip on a boat to the harbors of Antwerp. But I think it might be a better idea to drive our cars along the Schelde river.
We found a very romantic and beautiful place to have our lunch and farewell party.
It is in one of those almost forgotten idillyc little villages with a view on the river.

I hope to be able to welcome many of you in Antwerp,it really would be a privilige to see you all!
Please subscribe as soon as possible,so we know how many of you will come.
I will keep a close contact with our Tesoriere,Claudio Giorgetti, since he has  much  experience with these events. And he off course will check the books! And,last, not only the Alfa 6C 1750,2300 and 2500 are welcome, but also some of the other very interesting models.

Ciao a tutti da Raoul E. San Giorgi  e Stefano Centanni
